FALCON 23-4M LIGHTNING Featured in International Defence Media Following ADEX 2026

At ADEX 2026 in Baku, FDI presented the FALCON 23-4M LIGHTNING, a trailer-mounted very-short-range air-defence system built around four twin-barrel ZU-23-2 23 mm gun mounts. The configuration combines the established gun platform with integrated sensors and fire control for coordinated protection against low-altitude unmanned aerial threats.

A BIRD radar station provides surveillance and target cueing, while a mast-mounted electro-optical station supports visual observation and tracking. FDI’s FALCON EYE AIR GUARD fire-control architecture connects the sensors, a remote operator post with monitors and the separate gun mounts, enabling centralized monitoring and coordinated operation. This integration is designed to support timely, consistent responses from a remote control position.

Mounted on a trailer for deployment at a selected site, FALCON 23-4M LIGHTNING is intended as a short-range point-defence layer for fixed or semi-fixed locations and critical infrastructure. Its gun-based capability complements wider air-defence arrangements; it is not a replacement for missile-based systems.

Following its presentation at ADEX 2026, the system received written coverage in 22 publication records across 20 publisher domains, including Army Recognition, Defence Review, Times of Defence, Editor.az, Ordu.az, VietNamNet, QDND, Defense Arabia and Defence.Tech. A VietNamNet-originated article was also distributed through Vietnam.vn in 31 language editions. These editions are versions of one article, not 31 independent reports.
