# Build what protects people.

FDI designs fire-control, air-defense and vision systems that help defend people and places. The work is serious. We are looking for curious, original thinkers who care about it as much as we do, and who are ready to work hard.

1. **Think beyond the obvious** You question the first answer, and the second. When the usual approach doesn't fit the problem, you find a better one.
2. **Share the passion** You want to know how things work, from optics and electronics to software and mechanics. You build things, take them apart and enjoy working with people who do the same.

4. **Be exact, be honest** In our field a small mistake can matter a great deal. We look for people who check their work, say what they don't know, and take ownership of the result.
5. **Handle trust with care** Some of what we do is not public. We look for people who can be trusted with sensitive work and who treat it with discretion.
6. **Keep learning** Our systems combine optics, electronics, software and AI. Whatever your degree says, we want people who keep widening what they know.

## You don't need a perfect CV

If you are a student or a recent graduate with a project, a thesis, a competition entry or something you built on your own, tell us about it. Curiosity and rigour matter more to us than a long list of titles.

## Security-First Culture

Working in defense means operating with the highest standards of security and integrity. All team members undergo thorough security vetting and maintain appropriate clearances. We take our responsibility to protect classified information and national security interests seriously.

Writing to us does not require a security clearance.
